How do you stop your migraines

Just as the title says- How do you stop your migraines?

There are so many people are suffering from migraines and I have no idea how do they stop their migraine headaches. Is there magic to it, or some sort of secret will?

All I know is that the over the counter pills are useless for this purpose. They always had been useless for migraines and I guess they will be in the future too.  Aroma therapy is out of the question as I am sooo irritated by smell while I have a hedache. Massage feels good but never stopped the headache. Relaxing if they mean sleeping is alright once I fall asleep. One simply can't relax while has a migraine! Impossible!!
